Workbobo ("Workbobo", "we", "us") is an AI personal assistant that finds jobs, drafts tailored CVs and cover letters, and sends applications from your Gmail account. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — your name, email address and password or Google sign-in.
  • Career information — your CV, work history, education, skills, portfolio links, job preferences (roles, locations, salary, visa needs) and writing samples.
  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications — messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location and pages visited.
  • Usage data such as features used, applications sent and settings chosen.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).

Information from third parties

  • Public job listings and company contact details from job boards and company career pages.
  • Basic profile information from Google when you connect your account.

How we use your information

  • To search for and match you with relevant job openings.
  • To generate tailored CVs and cover letters for each application.
  • To send applications from your Gmail account and send a copy to you.
  • To show your application history, replies and progress in your dashboard.
  • To process payments, provide support and send important service notices.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and comply with the law.
  • To improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified usage data.

We do not use your CV, personal data or Gmail data to train general-purpose AI models.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and optional analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

Google & Gmail data

When you connect your Google account, we request permission to send emails on your behalf (Gmail send scope) and to read your basic profile (name and email address).

Workbobo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We only use Google data to send the job applications you have authorised and to send you a copy of each one.
  • We do not read, scan or store the content of your personal emails.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
  • Humans at Workbobo do not read your Google data unless you give explicit permission (e.g. for support), it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
  • You can revoke access at any time from your Workbobo settings or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How we share information

We only share your information in these cases:

  • With employers you apply to — your CV, cover letter and contact details are sent to the companies you (or your autopilot settings) choose.
  • With service providers — trusted vendors for hosting, AI processing, payments, email delivery and analytics, bound by confidentiality and data-protection agreements.
  • For legal reasons — when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or others.
  • Business transfers — if Workbobo is involved in a merger or acquisition, your data would remain protected by this policy.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records (such as invoices) for legal reasons. Copies of applications already sent to employers or to your own inbox are outside our control.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, strict access controls, and secure Google OAuth — we never see or store your Google password. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify you of any breach as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and Nigeria's NDPA), you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct or download a copy of your personal data.
  • Delete your account and personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. disconnect Gmail).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

International transfers

Because we help you apply to jobs worldwide, your data may be processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
